Okapi is an avant-rock duo from Asheville, NC that employs upright bass, cello, and voice. Okapi has toured nationally, performed as part of many festivals including Big Ears, and have been featured in The Wire as part of their staff-curated CD compilation, “The Wire Tapper”. They’re a very direct and bare bones group that pride themselves on honest, raw, and cathartic (but intimate) deliveries, unconventional exploration of creative composition/craftsmanship, and the potency and value of the content presented.
