Similar to the dichotomous nature of their name, blues/psych rock band Daisychain produces a sound that is a beautiful series of contradictions: ambiguous, yet easily comprehensible; brutally honest while also soothing; rooted in classic rock and still trippy enough to please the ears of 21st century listeners. The female-fronted band from Chicago, who are also the best of friends, use music as a tool to connect and most importantly, channel feelings around the craziness of modern life. Moody, soulful, and sultry, Daisychainās classic rock ānā roll sound is one that a wide variety will relate to because it is based around universal emotions.

Fresh Ghosts is a dynamic, lyrically-driven indie rock band led by Denton, TX-based recording engineer and guitarist Alex Hastings (Claire Morales / The Demigs / Edgar Derby). The band released its debut album “Soft Edgeā in September 2021. The Denton Record Chronicle has called āSoft Edgeā “a sonic time capsule preserving longing, resignation and the kind of hungry hope you try to keep on a leash.” Fresh Ghostsā sound has been referred to by the Dallas Observer as “a folksy indie-rock that’s often haunting in its dark turns.ā
The fifth state of matter, Pique, is the anomalous mutual divination of mood-ring-wearing, dagger-unsheathing, spice-slinging North Texas troglodytes April, Nathan, Jerry and Travis. After becoming hypnotherapy certified, the quartet decided to ditch their inkblots and monochromatic pinwheels for real musical instruments. Their cauldron has conjured an EP designed to manipulate grey matter and similar organic materials. Releasing January 4th, 2025 (waxing crescent), Phantasmagoria, is the debut vibrations of the band with its spearheading single, Aren’t You Done Being Bored.
