Porous Sonorous [SHOWROOM]

Baton Rouge-based guitarist and visual artist Hal Lambert has played Denton twice with drummer Mitch Mobley, on this occasion he is performing with drummer/saxophonist Joshua Cañate (Trio Glossia, Flesh Narc, Same Brain) for a first-time duo. Ruptured Implant, the unpredictable noise-infused duo of Rachel Weaver and Kristina Smith will be joining forces with polymath sound-sculptor Louise Fristensky. Justin Lemons reunites with Monte Espina (the electroacoustic free improvisation duo of Miguel Espinel and Ernesto Montiel) to further explore heightened intensities and wide-ranging possibilities.

Short Attention Span Cinema, a selection of short films curated by Chad Withers, will screen before each set.

porous sonorous is an artist-run concert series for further sounds and other musics, flowing sporadically and itinerantly across North Texas. It is shaped by a long-standing involvement with The Wild Detectives, forged from half the ashes of Molten Plains, and woven through shifting currents of past and present collaborations with fellow artists, organizers, and venues of many kinds.

It’s an honor that the formal debut of porous sonorous is taking place at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios, our Denton home.
